Description
Gardenias don't grow well in Michigan, indoors or out. Their lovely scent is intoxicating, as is the creamy, soft white color. The petals grow in a formation like a Fibonacci spiral seen in a seashell and other beautiful creations from Mother Nature. Nature is genius.
I nabbed this image as a rare bloom appeared on a warm Spring day in Michigan, as if to say 'I will persevere'. To make it black and white, although it looks like it is, would be to rob it of its beautiful, natural warm color. I did create it in black and white but when you check it out, you will see what I mean. It reminds me of a bride and groom; the white flower, the black background. It would be a perfect gift for the bride or bridesmaids.
I believe that if you lean into this image, close your eyes and breathe, you will smell the sweet scent and his perseverance will have been worthwhile. It has this pure feeling to it. Maybe it's the color. Maybe it's the soft, delicate nature of the blossom. It's captivating for sure.
