Description
Michigan's shorelines cover 3,288 miles. Yes. That's a whole lot of beach for swimming, beachcombing, boating, and relaxing. This scene is up in Good Hart, Michigan, United States, at Church Beach. A lovely, quiet spot many tourists are not familiar with. This was taken on a windy, summer's day.
The waters are turquoise there and remind me of the Caribbean. The sand is a beautiful golden tan. If you get lucky, you might run across a Petoskey stone, a rare find today. When I was a child, they were everywhere.
This fence protects the beach grass that holds the sand in place from the wild winds off Lake Michigan. This is God's country. Yet another example of why Michigan is referred to as the Water Wonderland.
