Description

Sunsets over water are the most beautiful because of the bonus of the vivid hues reflected onto the water. Silhouettes of the dark trees add to the composition. I wish there would have been a breeze so the flag would have been flying instead of still, but when a sunset this brilliant appears, there are only moments to capture it and one must work quickly to capture the momentary magic.

This is probably my husband's favorite photograph I ever made. And considering he's seen thousands of images, I count this one as a treasure. It is not only a glorious sunset, it's taken from our backyard. We are truly blessed to watch the sun as he sets season in and season out with countless weather conditions that make every one unique. Whether they are colorful or monochromatic, it is still a gift to view day in and day out.
