Description
A cherry blossom branch isolated in Spring from an entire tree filled with beautiful, white blossoms outside of Washington DC. The entire area becomes engulfed with these soft, pastel petals from over 3,000 cherry trees just in the immediate DC area around the National Cherry Blossom Festival in early April.
They were gifted in 1912 to Washington DC from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo, Japan. The gift honored the lasting friendship between the United States and Japan.
When the wind blows, it looks like it's snowing and the soft, white petals pile up on the sides of the roads and in corners just like snow. The scent is wonderful. A truly breathtaking scene. Everyone must visit the cherry blossoms of our country's capitol at some point!
