Description
Two telephone booths stand ready for visitors in the romantic, medieval town of Obidos, Portugal. Obidos was a gift from King Denis of Portugal to his queen on their wedding day in 1282. The cobbled streets, whitewashed homes with brightly painted trim, and dramatic medieval castle create a magical setting like in a fairy tale.
The shops and buildings are whitewashed to deflect the sun. Brightly colored flowers like bougainvillea and geraniums surround doorways and window sills. Much of the trim is bright blue, with contrasting yellow, which are the colors of the royal coat of arms.
