Description

This little salamander was hidden so well I almost stepped on him on a very cool, autumn morning. He was still very inactive from the cold so he held that position long enough for me to capture this.

It is a reminder of the importance of really 'seeing' what is around us. The beauty in the details is everywhere. This photograph has done well in many competitions with Professional Photographers of America and has been sold many times. Taken in the beautiful Hocking Hills of Ohio during a shootout competition that lasted 24 hours. It really challenged me to really see everything around me and not miss anything.

There is truly wonder in nature. Autumn, when the Earth prepares herself for a long sleep, as everything dies and hibernates, has such beauty.
