Description
On a visit to Rome, Italy, I looked down and saw this pattern that looked to go on forever. The stairs look like they change color, but it is merely the lighting. The winding staircase was full of people, of course. I took several photos and sandwiched them together to eventually remove the people. The ornate railing was all detailed with angels and intricate designs. The bottom was the most beautiful blue marble floor. It looks like a winding path that leads to a pool to infinity to me. I've seen other images of this where the bottom is not blue. I finally realized that it has to be a reflection of the midday sky through the glass dome because the edges of the circle are not blue. I never realized that until lately.
