Artist's Description
The sunflower, or Helianthus, look like the sun. They are such sun worshippers, they turn their yellow heads all day to follow the sun. It’s a real sight to see. They tend to peak in midsummer and grow to heights beyond 10 feet! Fields of sunflowers are beautiful and plentiful here in my area of the country. They originated in the Americas and were first domesticated in Mexico and the Southern United States.
This variety is known as Teddy Bear sunflowers. They have very dense petals and fluffy, golden heads. Set in this unusual green vase, they beautified the table in my sister’s house, where I first spotted them.

Lots of things inspire me in my art. I love traveling, and have been afforded the opportunity to see wonderful places all over the world. I then share our travel destinations with others so they can experience the beauty out there too. Another passion of mine is ornamental gardening. Flowers...
