Description
A cobblestone street in the romantic, medieval town of Obidos, Portugal. Obidos and its castle were a gift from King Denis of Portugal to his queen on their wedding day in 1282.
The shops and buildings are whitewashed to deflect the sun. Brightly colored flowers like these orange trumpet vines surround doorways and window sills. Much of the trim is bright ultramarine blue, with contrasting saffron yellow, which are the colors of the royal coat of arms.
