Description
I was challenged recently from a client who wanted a pink floral for a bedroom that had brown in it. Ahhh, always up for a challenge. So armed with a garden of pink dahlias, and many images later, I arrived with what I felt was a good base. What a tough assignment... photographing beautiful flowers in a garden on a gorgeous summer day?
If you're an artist, have you sat at a blank screen/canvas and wondered what direction to go and nothing worked? I spent a lot of time on this one image, knowing this was the base. But it wasn't happening. Sometimes, a photograph in and of itself is enough. But it didn't feel right. It wasn't until I experimented with these soft overlays that I finally got the affect I was looking for. My gut tells me when to put my stylus (digital paintbrush) down.
There is a version for sale here in my portfolio with a quote on it. The original was created with the quote, and it was my inspiration for the creation. That's when I knew it was done. Alas, someone always wants no text, so this version was created as well. Enjoy.
