Description
The lines in this macro photograph of the central portion of an Oriental poppy highlight the delicate and brilliant beauty of this flower. Poppies intrigue me with their fuzzy leaves and large, fuzzy buds. The buds are huge and sturdy and open to reveal the most delicate petals of any flower I know. They are often wrinkled and stay that way for the short duration of their bloom cycle. My blossoms in the garden never last longer than a day and can last less than a day of the heat is too intense.
But in this moment, the light, the blossom, the lines, the beautiful center detail of this exceptional, brilliant red orange poppy came together to create this lovely digital photograph. Enjoy.
