Artist's Description

On a visit to my brother's home, I saw this gorgeous orange Iris. I admired it so much that one day a box arrived in my mail with one of my own as a gift from my brother and his wife.

I've waited two years for this beauty to grace our landscape. And this Spring, here in Michigan, we were not disappointed. One morning, as the first bloom appeared, a gentle rain had fallen and there was that beautiful, sweet light an artist hopes for.

So I was able to capture this image naturally with very little edits. It was captured with my iPhone 7+ using the Camera+ app on macro mode. It rivals my 105 macro lens as long as I have light! Truly amazing color, detail, and natural glow to this spring flower.

Thanks and hugs to my big brother and his wife on their 29th wedding anniversary today. This one is for you! :) xoxoxoxo

It stands to reason that when I spray painted the neighbor's black hearse a sparkling shade of silver that I was destined to be an artist. Now that I'm in my 7th decade, my free spirit has settled down a bit (the hearse owner would be glad). Still, curiosity, creativity, and an eye for beauty define me. Lots of things inspire me in my art. I love traveling, and have been afforded the opportunity to see wonderful places all over the world. I then share our travel destinations with others so they can experience the beauty out there too. Another passion of mine is ornamental gardening. Flowers...
