Description
I was challenged recently from a client who wanted a pink floral for a bedroom that had brown in it. Ahhh, always up for a challenge. So armed with a garden of pink dahlias, and many images later, I arrived with what I felt was a good base. She asked me to add this quote, which she loves. What a tough assignment... photographing beautiful flowers in a garden on a gorgeous summer day?
If you're an artist, have you sat at a blank screen/canvas and wondered what direction to go and nothing worked? I spent a lot of time on this one image, knowing this was the base. But it wasn't happening. Sometimes, a photograph in and of itself is enough. But it didn't feel right. It wasn't until I experimented with these soft overlays that I finally got the affect I was looking for. My gut tells me when to put my stylus (digital paintbrush) down.
So this quote, 'The meaning of life is to find your gift. The purpose of life is to give it away.' is very appropriate in this image. In essence, when I finished, I realized that I have indeed found my purpose and yes, I am giving it away. No wonder it fills me with such joy not only upon completion, but often during the entire process. I am blessed.

Thank you so much for this description, Jill. It is so validating. I too have found I spent much of my life asking questions...only when I began to give with gratitude did the answers appear, hidden in plain sight. Thank you for the glimpse of beauty tonight.

Thanks, folks. It was fun to match an image with the quote and discover the personal message that revealed itself to me.
