Description
Laundry is one of those chores I could do without. Ironing is out of the question. I don't do it. Nothing a damp towel can't handle in the dryer. Wrinkles disappear. So in honor of my great dislike for this necessary task, I made this sign for my own laundry room. It is a very large metal sign above my washer and dryer. It makes me laugh every time I view it.
This sign began as a photo shoot of my granddaughter in my studio. We filled this tub with warm, soapy water and plopped her in there. She thought it was great fun. Her mother was off to the side ready to grab her at any second. And yes, she did indeed take a dunk and came up sputtering! But she laughed and laughed. We blew bubbles for her that added to the mood.
I finally found the perfect use for this image. My granddaughter is now 14 and loves coming into my laundry area and looking at this funny image of herself. She doesn't like doing laundry either. :)

This is such a cute way to present the message about doing laundry. I think it’s a thankless, but a necessary job. Putting them in the washer and dryer is easy, it’s the folding or hanging them later that is daunting. I am with you about ironing. I am glad your granddaughter came through the dunk and spudder, as soap suds can be quite dangerous for a baby if inhaled. They do tend to hold their breath automatically. It’s a precious image of her. They are so kissable at that age. Beautiful and creative artwork, Jill. LF Janet 💕

Janet - So true! I knew it would cheer me up while I'm busy doing it. And it does. Thanks for your kind comments! :)
