Description
When the leaves have all fallen, and Michigan turns very cold, hoar frost appears on the edges of leaves and creates lovely patterns of frost on the leave as well. It takes a unique combination of air and ground temperatures.
It is especially nice when there is still color in the leaves like these oak and maple leaves here. The frost quickly disappears if you touch the leaves so you can only hope that they fall in lovely patterns and have a nice backdrop. This picnic table on a cold late autumn morning, was the perfect backdrop for this closeup.
Of course, I tried to separate them and isolate one of the leaves as well as moving them around. But nature has a way of stepping in and messing those photos up sometimes. LOL.
Jack Frost touches the earth here in Michigan and leaves us with beautiful, icy patterns to behold. Mother Nature is such a fabulous artist.
