Artist's Description

Florence’s cathedral is topped off with a magnificent Renaissance dome or cupola designed by Filippo Brunelleschi. The cathedral was begun at the end of the 13th century by Arnolfo di Cambio. The dome was added to the church in the 15th century on a design by Brunelleschi. It took over two centuries to complete!

The exterior is covered in a mix of pink, white, and green marble. It is so huge that there was no way I was able to have the equipment with me, as a tourist, to deal with the perspective of the building. But this gives the viewer some idea of the intricate detail and beauty of this cathedral.

Lots of things inspire me in my art. I love traveling, and have been afforded the opportunity to see wonderful places all over the world. I then share our travel destinations with others so they can experience the beauty out there too. Another passion of mine is ornamental gardening. Flowers...
