Description

This image is a portrait orientation of another image of mine that is a landscape orientation entitled Blue Ribbon River.

I was in the middle of a Jazzercise class when the sun came out. I looked out the window and stopped in the middle of the class and got to this location as fast as I could, having previously viewed it thinking it might be a beautiful image if the light was right. But it was blowing, snowing, and overcast. It was near zero when I first spotted it that morning. The wild weather subsided, the sun came out, and in spite of three feet of newly fallen snow, I captured this serene image of the beauty of a Michigan winter's day on the Huron River.

I will forever see myself standing on a crumbling bridge in snow up to my rear, and not caring one iota about anything but the majestic view that lay before me. Deep breath, depress shutter, pray.
